This thesis can be divided into two main sections, a hardware-oriented section and a software-oriented one. The hardwaresection includes testing the electric "features" of the 1-wire-protocol and the devellopment of a universal 1-wire-slave implemeted with a 8051-compatible microprocessor.

The software-section includes the design of a universal cross-platform C++library which will serve as the basic component to implement a TCPcontrolled server which will monitor & manage 1-wire-networks. This server will be presented with a webinterface as serverGUI.
